Once only available with $263 NFT bundle, now the porn slasher 'Alone At Night' will be showing at cinemas.
It’s been seventeen years since Paris Hilton was robbed of a Best Actress Oscar for her scream queen skills when we watched her get staked and embalmed in the horror movie House of Wax. It wasn't her first foray in the horror genre (that was 2002’s low budget Nine Lives), but it turns out it wouldn't be her last either: Paris Hilton will make her cinematic return in new porn slasher movie Alone At Night, produced by Pretty Little Liars star Ashley Benson.
Originally titled 18 & Over, it had been said that the movie would only be available to watch by those who purchased one of 10,000 limited edition NFTs from Nifty Gateway, priced at $263 each. Buyers were given an exclusive “collector’s cut” of the movie on a private link. Producers Hercules Film Fund and Rhea Films have also stated that “long-term holders” of the NFT will also receive other perks, such as joining a collector’s community, having virtual hangouts with the movies talent and director, and bagging an invite to the movie’s LA premiere.
Now though, Deadline reports that the US distribution rights have been picked up by Vertical Entertainment, while the movie’s international showings will be handled by Other Angle Pictures. So, with us no longer having to frantically sell all our old Juicy Couture on Vinted just to get one of those exclusive NFT tickets, here’s everything we know about Alone At Night.
What is the plot of Alone At Night?
As the trailer shows, the slasher movie follows Vicky, played by Ashley Benson, a woman looking for a spiritual escape after the end of her relationship, only to find it in a remote cabin working as a cam girl for an adults-only live-streaming website called 18 & Over. But it seems there’s a masked murderer wielding a crowbar on the loose. One night, when the power goes out, she finds herself being terrorised by him too. Imagine the gag if, this time, Paris was the murderer. We would like to see it.
Who is in the cast of Alone At Night?
The show’s cast list is frankly wild. Alongside Paris as herself and Sky (who similarly appeared in horrors like The Green Inferno and Lords of Chaos) as Stacy, icons like Pamela Anderson and Winnie Harlow are slated to appear as Sheriff Rogers and Lauren, the latter seemingly a part of the movie’s opening kill scene. From the music world, A$AP Nast and G Eazy have been recruited, with G Eazy crafting its score — a first for the rapper. Finally Jake Weary (It Follows), Luis Guzmán, Jon Foster, Duke Nicholson, John Robinson and Lindsey Pelas finish up the cast.
Who is behind the camera?
Produced by Benson and co-created with filmmakers Jimmy Giannopoulos and Diomedes Raul Bermudez, Alone At Night uses the pandemic and quarantine as a backdrop to what filmmakers have called “a night of terror”. It’s the sophomore feature from Jimmy, who last directed a Brooklyn mob thriller called The Birthday Cake that Ashley co-starred in. “After deciding to shoot this film in the middle of the pandemic, we wanted to make something that would be fun but still a terrifying slasher for audiences during these tough times,” Jimmy told Deadline. “A film relevant to today’s issues of a global pandemic, reality shows, isolation, OnlyFans, and obsession.”
When can I finally see it?
As of yet, neither distribution company has announced a release date, although we’ll update this page as soon as we know. After all, we will sell a limb to watch Paris Hilton and Sky Ferreira make their return to horror movies!
